Yes. At The Laser Room Stratford, we operate two dedicated laser machines — a diode laser and a triple wavelength system — which together allow us to safely and effectively treat all skin tones, including darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) that many clinics cannot accommodate. We use specially calibrated settings and our latest cooling technology to ensure every treatment is safe and comfortable.

Most clients describe the sensation as similar to a light flick of a rubber band — brief and tolerable. Our machines feature the latest integrated cooling technology, which significantly reduces discomfort by cooling the skin before, during and after each pulse. Sensitive areas such as the bikini line or underarms may feel slightly more intense, but the majority of clients find treatments very manageable.

The patch test is a complimentary safety procedure carried out for all new clients before their first treatment session. A small area of skin is treated with the laser at the appropriate settings for your skin and hair type. We then monitor your skin's reaction over 24–48 hours. This ensures the treatment is safe for you and that the laser settings are correctly calibrated before we treat a larger area.

Absolutely. We treat men and women equally and our clinic is a welcoming space for everyone. Common treatment areas for male clients include the back, chest, shoulders, neck, beard line and face. We also offer all our facial treatments to male clients. There is no difference in quality of care or approach — every client receives the same professional standard of treatment.

Our pico laser uses ultra-short picosecond pulses — pulses so rapid they shatter tattoo ink into microscopic particles small enough for the body to eliminate naturally through its lymphatic system. This technology is more precise than older Q-switched lasers, causing minimal damage to surrounding tissue while being highly effective on stubborn and multi-coloured inks. The result is faster clearance with fewer sessions.

The number of sessions depends on the size, age, colour and depth of the tattoo, as well as your skin type. Older tattoos typically respond faster. Black and dark blue inks respond most quickly; greens, yellows and purples can take longer. Most tattoos require between 6 and 12 sessions, spaced at least 6–8 weeks apart to allow the body to clear the treated ink. We will give you an honest estimate at your free consultation.

The Carbon Laser Facial — also known as the Hollywood Peel or carbon laser skin rejuvenation — is a popular, non-invasive treatment that delivers an immediate glow with minimal downtime. A thin layer of medical-grade carbon is applied to the skin and then targeted by a laser. The laser ablates the carbon, taking dead skin cells and impurities with it. The result is smoother texture, reduced pore size, improved skin tone, stimulated collagen, reduced hyperpigmentation and a visible, immediate radiance.

Laser hair removal typically involves no downtime — most clients return to normal activities immediately. You may notice mild redness or sensitivity in the treated area for a few hours. For tattoo removal, some redness and minor swelling is normal for 24–48 hours. The Carbon Laser Facial involves minimal downtime; skin may appear slightly flushed immediately afterwards but this settles quickly. Dermaplane and microneedling may cause some redness for 24–48 hours. We will provide full aftercare guidance tailored to your specific treatment.

Yes, and it is completely free. All new clients receive a free initial consultation with one of our qualified clinicians before any treatment begins. We use this time to assess your skin, discuss your goals, review any medical history relevant to treatment and answer your questions honestly. This is followed by a free patch test. There is absolutely no obligation to book a treatment after your consultation.

For laser hair removal, in the weeks before your session: avoid waxing, plucking or epilating (shaving is fine — please do shave the area), avoid tanning and fake tan on the treatment area, and limit direct sun exposure. In the 24 hours before: shave the treatment area, and arrive with clean skin — no makeup, creams, deodorant or fragrance on the area being treated. We will go through a full, personalised preparation guide at your consultation appointment.
